Retatrutide

GLP-1 · GIP · Glucagon · triple agonist

A synthetic peptide that engages three receptors at once: GLP-1 and GIP, the two incretin receptors, plus the glucagon receptor. That third arm is what separates it from the dual agonists it tends to get grouped with, and it is why retatrutide is studied as a class of its own rather than a variation on one. Investigated in metabolic research for effects on insulin signalling and energy expenditure.
BPC-157

Pentadecapeptide · 15 residues

A fifteen amino acid sequence taken from a protein found in gastric juice, which is where the name comes from: Body Protection Compound. Unusually for a peptide, it is stable in gastric acid rather than being torn apart by it. The preclinical literature, almost entirely rodent models, examines it for angiogenesis and connective tissue repair. It holds no clinical approval in any jurisdiction.
GHK-Cu

Copper tripeptide · 3 residues

Three amino acids, glycine and histidine and lysine, holding a copper(II) ion. It occurs naturally in human plasma and declines steadily with age, which is what first drew attention to it. The copper is not incidental: the complex, rather than the bare tripeptide, is what the research concerns. Studied against collagen synthesis and extracellular matrix markers, and long used as a cosmetic research ingredient.
Ipamorelin

Secretagogue · GHS-R1a agonist

A five amino acid sequence that binds the ghrelin receptor and prompts the pituitary to release growth hormone. It is a secretagogue, meaning it triggers release of a hormone rather than substituting for it. Its research interest is selectivity: earlier secretagogues such as GHRP-6 also moved cortisol and prolactin, while ipamorelin was characterised as leaving those largely untouched.
IGF-1

Polypeptide · 70 residues · IGF-1R

Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 is the largest molecule in this lineup at seventy amino acids, long enough that it is more properly called a small protein. Its structure closely resembles insulin, which is where the name comes from, and it binds its own receptor, IGF-1R. It sits downstream of growth hormone and carries out much of what growth hormone is credited with. That is why it and ipamorelin are studied as two points on a single axis.
MOTS-c

Mitochondrial-derived · 16 residues

A sixteen amino acid peptide encoded not in the cell nucleus but inside the mitochondrial genome, in the 12S rRNA gene. That origin is the point of it: mitochondria were not thought to issue signalling peptides of their own. Examined in metabolic research for AMPK activation and its role in cellular energy regulation.
